Conflict Management - Understanding violence and
aggression in the workplace

To explore violence and aggression in the workplace and
learn simple and proven control strategies around the principle
of verbal de-escalation to prevent them.
The course will cover but is not limited to:

signs and symptoms of aggression, including behavioural
styles
• Examining triggers of aggression and violence
• Identifying individual and 3rd party behaviour
that may contribute to
aggression and violence
• Verbal and physical de-escalation - what is
it and how does it work best?
• Understanding the importance of non-verbal communication
• Practical steps to safety (including optional
breakaway techniques)
• Advanced listening skills
• Saying "no" safely
• Techniques for remaining calm when faced with
aggression

This course has been designed for any employees who face
the risk of violence and aggression.
Note: This course can include basic self-defence
and simple breakaway techniques that can learned by anyone.
